Run the local companion

The companion keeps a local research database and your model key. With CLAWD Brain capture enabled, real research shown here also saves to your private cloud memory. Pause capture in the Brain tab whenever you want.

1. Unzip the companion, then open a terminal in its folder.
2. Run python3 app.py with Python 3.11 or later.
3. Open the local dashboard and copy the Connections pairing code.
4. Connect below. If your browser asks, allow this page to reach the local network.

Add Spider CLAWD to Chrome

The companion extension puts the animated spider in your active X tab, captures visible posts, and queues them for local research.

1. Unzip the extension. Open chrome://extensions and enable Developer mode.
2. Choose Load unpacked and select the extension folder.
3. Open the extension popup and enter the same local pairing code.
4. Visit X, then release the spider from the popup. Pause or dismiss it whenever you want.

Four Grok reviewers

Enable Grok in the companion’s local settings with your own xAI key. Each review makes four model requests within your configured budget. Configure the key locally, then request a review on a selected discovery.

Bring existing research

Import Gem Search capture JSON or an exported companion snapshot. Browser imports revalidate captured posts and recalculate local checks. Saved page and model claims are discarded; link crawling and model reviews run in the paired companion. Open the research lab for dossiers, review packets and concept drafts. Read the field guide.
